Star rating are confusing to me nowadays which I no longer give any grade or rating. I find them to be unnecessary as my opinion would often change.
This was something I learned after watching The Tree of Life where I was really confused about what to give the film and eventually chose not to grade it at all. My initial opinion would be different from my second opinion.
I'll the Stone Roses' Second Coming as an example. It's a pretty flawed album that is unable to live up to the brilliance of the debut. Yet, there's songs that has stuck out with me which makes it more enduring for me to listen to.
I think at the end of the day, the worst critic anyone has to face is themselves. Anyways, take care.
